Freeport-McMoRan Earns Spot on 2021 World’s Most Admired Companies List

February 1, 2021 - Freeport-McMoRan garnered a spot on the 2021 World’s Most Admired Companies list, ranking sixth among its industry peers, Fortune magazine announced today.

The list – considered the most comprehensive, annual report card on corporate reputation – was created by the magazine in partnership with global management consultant firm Korn Ferry. Rankings are based on rigorous vetting, including a poll of 3,800 corporate executives, directors and analysts.

The review began with 1,670 global companies, and the list ultimately was narrowed to a ranked top 51 All-Stars plus an alphabetical list of the remaining 281. Industries also were ranked into categories by overall scores.

A company’s overall score is based on nine attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products / services and global competitiveness.

Freeport-McMoRan previously appeared on the World’s Most Admired Companies list. The list has been published since 1997.
